How to clean and care for your J. Cotter Jewelry

Each piece we create is a one of a kind work of art and should be treated as such.

We are happy to clean and repair any of our work and encourage you to have settings checked every 6 months by our bench jeweler.

Please avoid exposing pieces to chemicals or scented products when wearing sensitive materials such as opal, turquoise, pearl, and any other organic material.

Patina & Oxidation
Patina is a process that happens to objects with long exposure to open air and a discoloration appears due to oxidation. Silver and Bronze will patina over time and with wear. We often add a patina to color the metal instantaneously. Over time, your piece of jewelry will develop its own unique patina depending on the environment and lifestyle of the wearer.
